Vaporization Temperature Guide 14 Compounds
Activation temperatures for cannabinoids and terpenes, color-banded by range. Hover bars for effect notes.

Vaporization Temperature Guide

Different compounds activate at different temperatures. Understanding these ranges helps optimize your vaporizer settings for desired effects.

Terpenes
Cannabinoids
Low (120–160°C) — Terpene-forward
Medium (160–185°C) — Balanced
High (185–230°C) — Heavy cannabinoids
Temperature Range Guide
120 – 160°C
Light Vapor — Terpene-Forward
Gentle on the throat. Releases volatile terpenes for aroma-rich, clear-headed experience. Ideal for daytime use and anxiety relief.
160 – 185°C
Balanced — Full Spectrum
The sweet spot. THC, CBD, and most terpenes become active. Balanced psychoactive and therapeutic effects for most users.
185 – 230°C
Dense Vapor — Heavy Cannabinoids
Maximum cannabinoid extraction. Stronger sedating effects. CBG and CBC activate here. Better for pain relief and insomnia.

Terpene Effect Matrix

Strength of therapeutic effects reported for each cannabis terpene. Darker green = stronger association based on preclinical and observational research.

Strength:
0 — None
1 — Mild
2 — Moderate
3 — Strong
Strength ratings based on preclinical and observational research. Not medical advice.

The Entourage Effect

Cannabis compounds work synergistically — cannabinoids and terpenes enhance each other's therapeutic effects through shared receptor pathways, creating outcomes greater than the sum of their parts.
